After the initial phase of demolition was completed we definitely decided to go with the recessed beam and the addition of the egress windows in the basement. These are no small projects and required an engineer and permits from the township. We also decided to put in new front and garage doors. We were able to match the hardwood floors in order to run it through the whole level to add to the open feel. We will later have them sanded, stained and polyurethaned. It is at this stage where we start to develop the layout of the kitchen and think about finishes .
